The Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDG) Cell at Assam Women's University is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and equitable academic environment for students from marginalized backgrounds. The cell functions as a support system to empower students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Minority Communities, and economically weaker sections of society. OBJECTIVES
- To identify and address the academic, financial, and social challenges faced by students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
- To provide mentorship, guidance, and counseling to ensure their academic and personal growth.
- To facilitate access to government and institutional scholarships, grants, and financial aid.
- To organize skill development programs, workshops, and career counseling sessions for enhancing employability.
- To promote awareness regarding various welfare schemes and initiatives by the government and other organizations.
- To create a supportive campus environment that fosters diversity, equity, and inclusion.
