Department of Sociology

The Department of Sociology was established in the year 2014 under the School of Humanities and Social Sciences to promote holistic understanding of society through critical thinking. The Department emphasises on inter disciplinary approach with a course structure that involves active student participation in social issues through lectures, film screenings, seminars, projects.

Programmes Offered
  • Masters in Sociology (Four Semesters)
  • The duration of the programme is of two years. Students are required to complete 86 credits (80 credit hour papers and one 6 credit project) successfully in the total duration of four semesters. In the Third and Fourth semesters they are required to choose two optional papers out of those offered along with the core papers.
