The Department of Mass Communication started functioning from the inception of the university. One of the few Mass Communication departments in the region, it provides quality media education and training at the post graduate level. The focus is on hands-on training along with theory to make the experience holistic. Eminent practitioners and experts in the field of Mass Communication and Journalism are invited to deliver talks and impart training to the students from time to time. The Department maintains a good relationship with the media organizations of this part of the country. It also arranges internship programmes with different reputed organizations as a mandatory part of the curriculum.
