Department of Economics

The University under its school of Business and Management Studies endeavors to offer masters programme in Economics in accordance with its mission to provide the women of Assam a level playing ground to access higher education. The masters programme in Economics is a two-year full-time programme and it stretches out to encompass theoretical as well as quantitative aspects of the subject recognizing the essence of the subject matter. With an intake capacity of 25 students in the concerned discipline, the university is set to start on the programme with a view to imbibe in the students knowledge, skill and confidence to compete, which in the long run would facilitate generation of human capital in the region.

Highlights of the Masters Programme

The Programme characterizes a 4-semesters choice based credit system offering a wide array of courses. A student in the masters programme would study a total of 18 papers of which 14 papers are compulsory and 2 groups comprising of 2 papers each from 4 groups of papers are to be chosen from the list of optional courses offered.
